About

Meskanahk Ka-Nipa-Wit School is located on Bobtail Road, 12km NE of Ponoka, Alberta on the Montana First Nation Cree Reserve. We are a K4 to Grade 9 school of approximately 140 students. We provide a well-rounded, quality education that incorporates the Alberta curriculum and our Maskwacis Curriculum. We have a priority on Maskwacisak traditions, culture, values, and language. We strive to adhere to the MESC core values of: Iyiniw Mamitonehicikan Nehiyaw Pimatisiwin Nehiyawewin Wahkohtowin

Introduction

Our school is proud to offer daily nêhiyawêwin instruction to all our students by embedding Cree culture, language, and traditions with emphasis on Îyinîw Mâmitonehicikan, Nehiyawewin, Nehiyaw Pimâtisôwin, and Wâhkôhtowin. As well, we offer a variety of courses including Art, Beading, Music, Computers, and Nehiyawatisiwin classes.

Students are provided with a morning breakfast and hot lunch prepared by Nanâtohk Mîciwin Program. 

Students also have the option of participating in numerous extra-curricular activities (i.e.: Volleyball, and Basketball). 

We have a dedicated team, which provides excellent educational opportunities for all our students.
